MONOSHOOTS

professional monologue filming for actors

Polished footage, expert guidance, and a chance to showcase your best performance

"I booked a national commercial soon after my Monoshoot—partly because I felt so much more confident in front of the camera."

- Adam Lloyd-James

"I booked a Monoshoot — nine days later I was accepted by my first-choice agent."

- Matthew Skinner

Who's it for?

Whether you’re just starting out, returning after a break, or refreshing your showreel, Monoshoots is designed to meet you where you are.

You can bring your own piece, work with extra guidance and time, or commission an original monologue written specifically for you.

All three routes lead to the same thing: truthful, professional footage that puts performance first.

Performance-first. Cinematically filmed.

Many actors have strong performances recorded on phones or in improvised setups. The work is there — but the presentation quietly works against it.

Monoshoots places your performance in a cinematic, professionally filmed environment, with expert guidance shaped by 25 years of screen acting experience.

We take the time to build confidence and capture something truthful, grounded, and watchable.

How we'll work.

The studio is fully prepared when you arrive.

We’ll talk through your piece, rehearse until you feel ready, and fine-tune sound, lighting, costume, hair, and framing before filming.

We shoot multiple angles and only move on once we’ve captured a performance you’re genuinely happy with.

Studio and Access

Filming takes place in central Bath, a 15-minute walk from Bath Spa station.

On-street parking is available — we’ll arrange a permit before you arrive.

Standard and Premium Monoshoots

For a Standard or Premium Monoshoot, you’ll bring a piece you’ve already chosen. To work best on camera, it should:

  • Be no longer than two minutes

  • Mostly stationary — no heavy movement or props

  • Highlight your strengths

During the session, we’ll review and rehearse your piece until you feel confident. We’ll adjust lighting, sound, and framing to capture the best possible footage. Premium Monoshoots include extra prep and additional filming time, giving you more space to relax and explore different approaches.

The Bespoke Monoshoot

This option is for actors who want material that feels unmistakably theirs.

We start by working out what makes you unique — your casting, your energy, the qualities people respond to — and write a monologue that sells that from the ground up.

The result is a piece that feels natural, specific, and useful: something that shows casting exactly who you are and what you do best. You can see examples of my writing in the video examples section.

If you’re interested in this option but want to talk it through first, I offer a free, no-obligation consultation.

Email hello@willthorp.com to arrange a chat.

Young Actors (11-17)

Monoshoots is also available for young actors serious about screen performance. The same performance-first approach, professional filming, and bespoke writing — adapted thoughtfully for younger performers, with parents and guardians fully involved throughout.
