one-to-one coaching for actors

Tailored, actor-led coaching for the screen
My coaching centres on focused, practical work on camera.

Sessions are shaped around you — your goals, your current stage of development, and the areas that will make the biggest difference to your screen work. Some actors arrive with a clear focus; others prefer me to guide the process as we go.
I provide a structured, professional environment where that work can happen consistently, calmly, and without pressure.

Sessions take place on camera, in a calm, controlled studio environment designed to support learning rather than performance.

We establish the practical fundamentals — scale, simplicity, continuity, working with the frame — so the actor isn’t fighting the medium. Once those elements are in place, attention can shift to something more important: staying relaxed, present, and responsive on camera.

The work is about creating the conditions where you can think less and trust more. Where habits and tension can surface without judgement, and where choices are allowed to breathe, adjust, and deepen over time.

About me
I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain before beginning a career that has spanned more than 25 years in television and film. My work includes regular roles in British serial drama as well as American TV and feature films. Alongside acting, I write and direct, and I’m motivated by helping actors develop truthful, confident performances on camera. Most recently, I played Gerald Hammond in All Creatures Great and Small.
