SCREEN ACTING COACHING

one-to-one coaching for actors

Alice Coles 2025

For actors who want to feel confident, natural, and in control on camera.

Many trained actors feel unsure when they step in front of a camera — even after years of training or stage work. The scale is different. The frame changes everything. And without a clear understanding of how screen acting works, it’s easy to feel out of your depth.

My sessions are designed to change that.

Through practical, on-camera work, you’ll learn how to adjust your performance for screen — so you can work with the camera, rather than fight it.

Since working with Will I have booked several screen jobs and have felt far more comfortable and confident in front of camera as a result of our sessions. Highly recommend!

About Will

I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain before beginning a career that has spanned more than 25 years in television and film. My work includes regular roles in British serial drama as well as American TV and feature films. Alongside acting, I write and direct, and I’m motivated by helping actors develop truthful, confident performances on camera. Most recently, I played Gerald Hammond in All Creatures Great and Small.

You can see my screen credits here.

Tailored, actor-led coaching for the screen

My coaching centres on focused, practical work on camera.

Sessions are shaped around you — your experience, your goals, and what will make the biggest difference to your screen acting.

We work on the key fundamentals of screen performance:

  • scale and stillness

  • working within the frame

  • continuity

  • staying relaxed and responsive

The aim is simple: to help you feel confident, grounded, and in control on camera.

Sessions take place on camera in a calm, controlled studio environment.

We start with the practical fundamentals — scale, simplicity, continuity, and working with the frame — so you’re not fighting the medium.

From there, the focus shifts to something more important: staying relaxed, present, and responsive on camera.

The aim is to help you think less, trust more, and allow truthful, specific choices to emerge naturally on screen.
